Ghost Closes Show Early After Fan Collapses and Passes Away

On May 31st, the band, Ghost, ended their show in Milwaukee, WI after a fan in the crowd fainted during an intermission between songs.

The paramedics were called, the man was taken away, and it was announced the rest of the show would be called off. The band also cancelled their appearance at a release party for their newest album, Prequelle.

The Journal Sentinel, a local Milwaukee news source, reported that the man, whose name and other details have not been released, passed away at Columbia St. Mary’s hospital of natural causes. His family was reportedly at the show with him.

Following the cancellation the band issued a statement on their social media outlets.

“Tonight, in Milwaukee there was a medical emergency with one of our fans. We decided not to continue out of respect to him and his family. Ghost and all who work with us ask that you please send the family your thoughts, prayers and respect their privacy during this time.”

Fans have taken to the Internet to discuss the event and share their perspective, most notably on Reddit and the event page on Facebook. Reports indicate that it took EMS a long time to reach the fallen man, possibly due to that venue staff didn’t call quickly enough, or because of their difficulty getting through an overcrowded general admission area (though this has not been confirmed).

On behalf of everyone at Red Roll, we wish the best for the friends and family of the deceased.
