The German-Russian DJ and producer has a new collaboration with singer-songwriter Kehlani titled, “Good Thing.”

The hardest part about having a stacked lineup is finding a way to divvy up the headliners, support, and set times evenly so that everyone will be happy…

..HA! Like that will ever happen. Remember y’all, you can never make everyone happy.

Spring Awakening announced their single day lineup this morning, and I gotta say they did their best. Designating huge names like Griz, Rezz, Zedd, Zomboy, Illineum, Galantis, DJ Snake (the list goes on and on) to one day isn’t an easy task.

Let’s take a peak at the single day lineup so far:

Friday: House Party

Friday’s forecast is looking like a house party! Infamous artists like Zedd, Oliver Heldens, Galantis, Shiba San, Golf Clap, and more will be playing on this day.

While still dominantly house, there is still something for those who prefer a different cup of tea. You can also catch Zomboy, Illineum, Virtual Riot, Space Jesus, and more.

Also, keep in mind your favorite set might be at the Silent Disco!

Saturday: Bass Heads Unite!

Saturday is definitely looking like the heaviest of the 3 days. Boasting big names like Rezz, Dion Timmer, Blunts & Blondes, Subtronics, Liquid Stranger, and Spag Heddy; this day will definitely leave you in a neck brace.

Again they included a variety of names. Two Friends, Malaa, What So Not, and Dreole are just some of the artists playing on Saturday that are sure to go just as nuts as bass heads.

Sunday: Perfect Balance

Tying up the festival with a perfect balance is something that SAMF really nailed this year. Interweaving sets of house, glitchop, funk, riddim, dubstep, and trap on the last day, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

My suggestion is that if you’re going to go for one day; go to this day. You get a little bit of everything, and festival finales are always the best!

On top of a new lineup, the festival will also be debuting their 3rd location change this year. SAMF’s previous homes have been Soldier Field and Addams-Medill Park, but decisions were made to move the festival out of downtown, to suburban venue Poplar Creek.

This new location is spread over 27 acres of land, which is almost double of Addams-Medill Park. Expect bigger and better stages, production, and experiences. There will be complimentary shuttles going from nearby hotels, and for the first time, PARKING ON FESTIVAL GROUNDS!

Tickets are still on tier one, but are flying fast for around $215. Don’t miss out, click on the link here to secure your tix!

See you there beauties!

All the love,
Katy <3

DJ/Producer Zedd has teamed up with up-and-coming vocalist, Elley Duhé on new track “Happy Now.”

The song is everything a summer pop song should be. It’s energetic, positive, and fun. At the start, a clean and crisp electric guitar plays a winding chord progression. The tone is light and uncomplicated like the song itself.

Duhé’s voice shines through, “You’re a world away / Somewhere in the crowd / In a foreign place / Are you happy now?” After repeating this troublesome question, the beat comes in, elevating this track to summer anthem status.

Instead of relying on an instrumental beat that completely cuts away from Duhé’s enchanting voice, “Happy Now” overlays the Alabama singer’s lyrics in and around the song’s hypnotic notes and dance-worthy beat.

Fans of Zedd and Duhé have been exclaiming their support for the duo on Twitter:

“Happy Now” comes just after Zedd’s previous hit, “The Middle” featuring singer, Maren Morris and electronic duo Grey. That song, released in January, spent 23 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, and peaked at Number Five.

Elley Duhé (25) starts singing and playing her first guitar in coffee shops at age 15. In 2012, Duhé makes it onto NBC’s talent show, The Voice, but gets eliminated during the blind audition portion.

Four years later, Duhe releases ”Millennium,” and “Immortal,” two synth-pop hits that showcase her superior vocal chops. “Millennium” streamed 1.4 million times on Spotify.

With a nimble voice, Duhé is equally comfortable singing happy songs, as she is with heavier, brooding tracks. Even though the judges on The Voice couldn’t see it, Duhé has what it takes to bring something special to your latest summer playlist.

With summer and festival-season coming to an end, it’s natural for music fans to be feeling a little down. But the colder weather and shorter days don’t mean that the parties stop! There are plenty of artists touring this fall and winter and plenty of shows to check out. Here’s a list of some must-see shows before the end of the year, for fans of all genres!

1) Glen Hansard, Nov. 21 at The Chicago Theatre

To those unfamiliar with the Irish musician, Hansard is probably mostly recognizable as the star of the award-winning 2007 film Once, for which the song “Falling Slowly” earned him and co-star Markéta Irglová an Academy Award for Best Original Song. With a new album, Didn’t He Ramble, due out September 18th, the folk-rock musician’s new tour promises to be amazing. And The Chicago Theatre is a perfect venue, with enough intimacy to allow fans to really feel the emotion with which Hansard performs all of his songs. Ticketing information can found at http://glenhansardmusic.com/tour.

2) Brandon Flowers, Sept. 11 at the Riviera

The Killers lead singer released his second solo album earlier this year, featuring singles such as “Can’t Deny My Love” and “I Can Change”. The album, The Desired Effect, has a funky, 80s pop-rock sound to it (perfectly embodied by the single “Lonely Town,” which Flowers has described as his own stab at a track like The Police’s “Every Breath You Take”), which is more similar to The Killers’ 2004 album Hot Fuss than their more recent works. The Desired Effect has been met with mainly positive reviews so far, and rumor has it that Flowers usually plays a couple of Killers songs at his solo shows – so this concert is certainly a can’t-miss! Tickets and tour information can be found at http://www.brandonflowersmusic.com/tourdates.

3) Zedd, Oct. 29 at UIC Pavillion

Zedd is now a household name, with hit singles like “Clarity (feat. Foxes)” under his belt. The Grammy-winning electronic artist released his second studio album, True Colors, in May, following a short, interactive promotional tour titled Zedd’s True Colors Experience. His True Colors Tour began in Asia earlier this month, and will make a stop in Chicago late October. It’s a must-see show for EDM fans, featuring Zedd plus guests Dillon Francis and Alex Metric. Head to https://www.zedd.net/tour for information and tickets.

4) Luke Bryan, Oct. 28/29 at the United Center

Bryan began his music career writing for artists Travis Tritt and Billy Currington, before releasing his debut album in 2007. 2015 has been a busy year for the country artist, with the release of his album Kill The Lights, receipt of the “Entertainer of the Year Award” at the ACMAs and the CMA Awards, and the opening of his current Kick the Dust Up Tour, one day after the conclusion of his previous tour. Bryan’s Chicago shows should be fantastic country nights, featuring Randy Houser and Dustin Lynch as support acts. Tour information, including links to purchase tickets, can be found at http://www.lukebryan.com/tour.html.

5) Josh Groban, Oct. 16/17 at The Chicago Theatre

Jokingly referred to as everyone’s mom’s favorite singer, Groban is an extremely talented vocalist whose “popera” (pop-opera) music resonates with fans of all ages. His latest album Stages, released April 28th, features a variety of covers of Broadway musical songs, and his corresponding tour kicks off September 12th. Longtime Grobanites and new fans alike are in for a treat, as Groban’s live performances are even more impressive than his recordings. Tickets for upcoming shows can be purchased at http://www.joshgroban.com/tour.

This month, Grammy award-winning EDM musician Zedd will release his second studio album, True Colors. The album features 10 new tracks, including the single “I Want You To Know” featuring Selena Gomez, which was released late February. To promote his newest endeavor, Zedd and his crew have been hard at work planning the Zedd True Colors Experience, explained on the official website as “a one-of-a-kind listening party and interactive event taking place in 10 cities around the U.S.” The electronic musician hosted ten secret shows – one for every track on his new album – each in a different city, and all open only to the first 50 fans to complete a scavenger hunt. The hunts involve snapping selfies with Zedd logos hidden around the city, then rushing to the final location. From there, fans are transported via bus to a secret party destination. The venues are often unpredictable, ranging from Joshua Tree National Park just outside of Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

So far, Zedd’s True Colors Experience has landed in L.A., Austin, Denver, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Chicago and has taken fans to some seriously cool locations – Alcatraz Island and The Stanley Hotel from “The Shining” included. Each concert goes well into the night, and includes entertainment, exclusive merch, refreshments and a one-on-one meeting with the DJ himself. Moreover, the events are all color-coordinated: Zedd has assigned each track on True Colors a corresponding color, so each night is given a color theme associated with the song debuted on that date. Chicago was stop number six out of ten for Zedd, where he wowed 50 lucky fans with a special night out at the John G. Shedd Aquarium on Friday, May 9th. The color theme of the night was magenta for the track “Beautiful Now”. Zedd describes magenta as “a color of power, energy and passion… also a color of quiet and beauty.” The musician certainly chose the correct venue for the theme, as fan photos posted on social media show the aquarium bathed in a beautiful pink light. Even Shedd employees were turned into members of Zedd’s crew for the night, swimming through the underwater tanks sporting the musician’s signature Z logo. The night culminated with a listening party for “Beautiful Now” in the Rice Amphitheatre, which Shedd visitors might recognize as the home of the dolphin show, with a breath-taking view of Lake Michigan as a backdrop for this equally exciting experience.

True Colors will be released on May 19th, and Zedd’s nationwide tour begins May 22nd in Las Vegas.
