Disturbed Returns From Hiatus With New Album

Disturbed Logo

That’s right, Disturbed is back. After a four year hiatus, in which the band members formed various side projects, the band has announced their return with a new album called Immortalized, and a music video for the album’s first single The Vengeful One.

In November 2011, the band released The Lost Children, a collection of B-Sides from their past albums, before embarking on their hiatus and forming various side projects. Dave Draiman, the band’s lead singer, went on to form the industrial metal band Device, before leaving to take care of his newborn son. Mike Wengren and Dan Donegan, the band’s drummer and guitarist respectively, created the band Fight or Flight while bassist John Moyer joined the band Adrenaline Mob.

On June 20, the band posted a video to their Facebook of their mascot, known as ‘The Guy,’ on life support and still breathing. On the days following, the band posted videos showing increased activity from The Guy, such as twitching, until finally he got up. The band also changed their cover photo to a new logo, and made their profile picture black, indicating that something was going on. Then the band made an announcement about the end of their hiatus.

Disturbed ones – The hiatus is over. Over the past year, we’ve been secretly writing and recording a brand new album. Today, we are excited to share a new song called “The Vengeful One” along with a new music video. It’s off our upcoming album called “Immortalized,” which will be released on August 21, and is available for pre-order today. This album had the arduous task of, in some way, justifying the hiatus; giving the fans something that made it worth our time away from one another. We hope that it succeeds in that task. Thank you for staying with us over the years.

You can see the video for The Vengeful One below, and preorder the album off of iTunes.
