“Time to Drive-in” To See Pigeons Playing Ping Pong
After releasing their newest album this summer, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong packed up their upbeat, funky energy and hit the road. They decided to take the pandemic by storm in a string of drive-in concerts! Equipped with ample safety guidelines and, of course, limited admission, the band took Presto on a road trip. August was spent hitting Cape Cod, Auburn, NY, and Philly– leaving a trail of bouncing ping pong balls in their wake. The energy and nostalgia of a drive-in setting is the perfect spot for a Pigeons show. Their whimsy and bubbling enthusiasm will make you feel young, free, and certainly not quarantined.

But it’s not over yet!
Don’t worry, this isn’t just a recap. The band is currently selling tickets (parking spots, haha) for their next performance on the 18th. Yes, the show is in Vermont, but has there ever been a better time for a road trip to a socially distant concert? I’ll wait…

Need a soundtrack for the drive?
Their 5th studio album, Presto, was released this summer and makes for the perfect cruising music. It has that catchy, bouncy sound we’ve come to expect from Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, which lends itself perfectly to a long winding road on a sunny day. It’s available now for streaming. Give it a listen!
And for those of us who don’t have a car…
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong invites us to join them from anywhere! The band’s “Yo Soy Fiesta” music video was also released earlier this summer, and I SO hope the drive-in show captures its essence. The band dances wide-eyed over a green screen that features, above all else, pigeons (I mean, of course). They really do play, “around the world…sort of…” (you’ll get it when you watch it). Even if this genre isn’t your funky cup of tea, check out the music video. It will at least make you smile 🙂
Watch us play “Yo Soy Fiesta” around the world… sort of… in our new music video! Check it out at https://t.co/0a0ATtTj7p and stream our fifth studio album ‘Presto’ on all streaming platforms now! pic.twitter.com/WYi2I6BrA9
