Rapper Killed in Chicago

On Friday morning, Chicago lost yet another youth. The 26-year-old rapper, Tray Savage, was shot and killed on the Southside of Chicago while dropping his girlfriend off. The rapper’s name was Kentray Young, and he was signed to the GBE label which is under the supervision of Chief Keef. He had worked with many other Chicago rappers like Fredo Santana and SD.

This is a storyline that seems to play out in Chicago far too often. Although the circumstances may differ from case to case, the result is usually another Chicago youth cut down in their prime. The Southside of Chicago is in need of monumental change and I hope it happens soon.

Although I only heard a few songs Tray Savage, I kept up with his career and was recently shocked he even took to the internet to voice his opinions about the protests and current state of the world. He had the potential to grow in the music industry and I’m sure his presence will be missed in Chicago.
