Summer Walker’s New EP “Life on Earth” Is Here!

Summer Walker, the 24-year-old R&B singer who hails from Atlanta, has recently released her newest EP. Life on Earth is made up of five songs and was released on July 10. This EP is Walker’s first, following several singles and two albums, Last Day of Summer (2018) and Over It (2019).

The first song, “Let It Go,” is a good opener, setting the tone for the album. This song in particular has a very similar sound to many of the songs on Walker’s most recent album, Over It. The second song is a bit slower and features upcoming R&B/hip-hop singer NO1-NOAH, who is also featured on the song “White Tee,” the fourth song on the EP. Hip-hop artist PARTYNEXTDOOR is also featured on the EP for the song “My Affection,” which is a catchy duet with a good beat. The closing song of the album is another solo, “Deeper,” which is a slower and more emotional song compared to most of Walker’s music.

If you’re a fan of R&B and female hip hop vocalists, this is the album for you. Particularly SZA, Jhené Aiko, and Ella Mai come to mind when thinking of similar artists. Overall, this EP is nothing ground-breaking, many of the songs sound very similar to past releases by Walker. With that being said, none of the songs are bad and new music is new music!
