Star Wars-Themed Metal Band Announces Summer Tour

I can’t believe it took me this long to write that headline, but it’s finally happening! A band themed after one of my favorite franchises is touring this summer!

You might remember this band from the closing days of 2015, when a metal cover of John Williams’s melody for Star Wars dropped on the Internet and became a sensation in the metal world. The video featured Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland from Atrium Audio (August Burns Red, Rivers of Nihil) and members of Unsigned & Unholy album Alustrium dressed up in full Star Wars gear.

The band was revealed to be called Galactic Empire, and not too long ago they announced that they launched a Kickstarter to fund the recording of a full album and they managed to successfully crowdfund $61,000 for release. They’ve just announced a 22-date tour with the Danger Kids that will take them across the eastern United States.

You don’t want to miss these guys, even if you’re not into metal.
