Metallica Bassist’s 12 Year-old Son Filling in on Bass for Korn

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo’s 12-year-old son Tye will be playing bass for Korn for their upcoming South American tour. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the band’s longtime bassist couldn’t make the tour, according to a post on Korn’s Facebook page, but should be able to rejoin the band for their North American tour coming up in May. In the same post, they commented how they are excited to “do a few gigs with a young player like Tye.”

Since he was eight years-old, Tye has been a member of the Helmets, a rock group that has performed at numerous festivals like BottleRock, Lollapalooza Chile and the Lollapalooza Kidsapalooza Stage in Chicago back in 2015.

The band’s South American tour consists of seven dates in April, starting off in Bogota, Colombia on the 17th and and finishes off on the 29th in Lima, Peru.
