Who Can We Expect to See at Lollapalooza 2019?

Festival season is upon us and line-ups are dropping. Some great artist has been announced for other festivals such as Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Kid Cudi, and many others.

One of Chicago’s biggest festivals of the summer, Lollapalooza, is taking place on Thursday, August 1, to Sunday, August 4, in the heart of Chicago, Grant Park.

Looking back at past line-up reveals they are usually announced in mid-March. Ticket announcements have just been released for next Tuesday, March 19 at 10 a.m. CT, and the lineup (usually) gets released the following day.

So, who can we expect to see at this year’s Lollapalooza?

Here are 12 artists who we can possibly expect to see!

  1. Ariana Grande

Earlier this year, Variety reported that they had word that Ariana Grande was set to headline Lollapalooza. Ariana Grande is one of the headliners for Coachella and reworked her schedule to perform, which ultimately left her open for Lollapalooza weekend.

2. Twenty-One Pilots

The duo released their newest album Trench in the summer of 2018 and have been on tour ever since, announcing a second leg to the U.S without a Chicago date. They are set to headline Lollapalooza Brazil, Paris, Berlin, and Argentina. They performed at Lollapalooza in 2016, so I think they are due to perform again on the big stage.

3. Hippo Campus

Hippo Campus have been announced to play multiple festivals; Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, and Firefly Festival. They’ll be playing Hinterland Festival in Iowa on August 2, so there is a good chance they’ll be traveling down to Chicago to play either the third or fourth day of Lollapalooza.

4. Diplo

Diplo is currently on tour and has been rumored to be a possible artist on the line-up. He is set to perform at the X Games in Minneapolis on August 1, so it is likely for him to be a closer at the Perry Stage for Friday or Saturday night of Lollapalooza.

5. Tame Impala

They are headlining multiple festivals this summer including, Coachella, Shaky Knees  Festival, and MO POP Festival, along with several others. Their tour schedule seems to be free during Lollapalooza weekend, so we can expect them as a possible headliner.

6. RL Grime

A possible player to play at the Perry Stage hopefully. Already set to play festivals such as, Governors Ball and Lollapalooza Chile, Argentina, and Brazil, we can probably expect him at Lollapalooza Chicago.

7. Two Feet

Two Feet was scheduled to play his first Lollapalooza in 2018, but due to some unfortunate events, he was unable to come last minute. Lollapalooza will definitely welcome him back for 2019.

8.  Young the Giant

The band came last year to Riot Fest, but are speculated to play at Lollapalooza. They’ll be playing at the Firefly Festival. Their current tour doesn’t conflict with any of the Lollapalooza dates.

9. Childish Gambino

The comedian, actor, and musician so far does not have any conflicts with the Lollapalooza dates. Childish Gambino is headlining Coachella and Bonnaroo. Let’s cross our fingers to hopefully see a glimpse of Gambino in Chicago.

10. Hozier

A big contender to play at Lollapalooza. Hozier announced a U.S tour and there is no Chicago date to see him on tour, unfortunately, and his European tour is set to start on August 19. Expect him on the line-up.

11. King Princess

She recently came to Chicago about a month ago, and is playing her first major festival: Coachella. With her tour set to end in mid June we can hopefully see her play her first Lollapalooza.

12. Jade Bird

British singer Jade Bird is currently on tour with no stop in Chicago. She is currently set to play at Shaky Knees Festival, Hangout Fest, and Hinterland Festival in Iowa, which is in close proximity to Illinois.

These are just a few of the predictions that can be expected. There is definitely a lot of other artist to look out for that can possibly be on the line-up.

REMINDER: Get your credit card ready, your alarms set, and be ready for the ticket sales next Tuesday at 10 a.m. CT!!
