Here’s Everything We Know About Maggie Rogers’ Upcoming Album

If you aren’t a fan of indie/alternative singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers, you may not know about her upcoming album, dropping on Friday, December 18. So, here is everything you need to know to prepare yourself for the upcoming record.

This will be Maggie Rogers’ follow up album to her debut, Heard it in a Past Life, which came out in January of 2019. The upcoming album is entitled Notes from the Archive: Recordings 2011-2016, and will feature the songs Rogers wrote before and during her time at NYU, where she studied English and music engineering and production. Rogers started making folk banjo music before attending and graduating from NYU in 2016. While in college, she eventually transitioned into combining her folk style with a more electronic sound. In a music production class at NYU, Rogers had the opportunity to play her song, “Alaska,” for producer, Pharrell Williams, who was guest critiquing. Williams was blown away by Rogers’ musical abilities, famously seen in this video:

Now, Maggie Rogers is releasing the music she wrote before becoming the pop star that Heard it in a Past Life made her. Rogers announced the upcoming album in an introduction track, explaining the context of her old songs. Listen to the track below:
